Disaster Relief----Providing shelter, food and water to help people during the worst floods for decades in south-eastern France.
Named Alex, the storm brought fierce winds and torrential rain, ravaged several villages around the city of Nice on the French Riviera. A number of villages north of Nice in France suffered serious damage from floods and landslides, with roads, bridges and homes destroyed. Rain fell in some areas over 24 hours - the equivalent of nearly four months at this time of year. On Friday, the storm also buffeted France's western Atlantic coast, causing tens of thousands of homes to lose power. The roads and about 100 houses were swept away or partially destroyed
